Happy Thanksgiving

Friends, this is my favorite week of the year!

For us, it's always a rather slow week leading up to the grand festivities of Thursday and even on Thursday, we don't have to make too many visits. Just two; lunch and dinner.

A traditional Thanksgiving meal is my very favorite of all time.

I love our families being together, taking their time, catching up, enjoying one another's company.

Christmas decorations are going up all around us. (Except at our own house, because the thought of decorating with 2 toddlers in tow, makes me a little nauseous to be perfectly honest. I've not mustered up the courage to start tackling that yet. So, we'll just leave out our metal jack-o-lantern on the front porch and Happy Halloween signs up on the doors for a few more days.)

Our calendars are filling up with different events and get-togethers to celebrate the holiday season.

People are generally a bit kinder, more appreciative and more giving this time of year. (Why those characteristics can't roll over into January and further is beyond me.)

We all have our struggles that we deal with on a regular basis. Problems we feel burden us down to the point we don't know what our next step should be or how we'll ever overcome the situation. Above all, we're richly blessed. We're warm, clothed, have a bed to sleep in at night, food in our refrigerators and pantries, jobs that provide us an income, insurance that pays the majority of our medical expenses, and fun luxuries like smart phones, smart tvs, Nexgen nails and Netflix. (Just a couple of my fave indulgences from time to time.)

We have more to be thankful for than not. Even when times are trying and your heart is aching, there are abounding blessings all around. Take a moment to find them and linger there.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your favorite people, favorite side dishes and favorite traditions!
